Those who take part in this mission trip go to great lengths to provide a nourishing meal, a sense of celebration over the birth of Christ, and to bring joy to children who's families do not have the means to share the joy of the occasion. The annual Children's Christmas Dinner creates this Christmas celebration atmosphere for the children of Les Cayes and Brefette (a suburb of Les Cayes).
Early in the morning, a group of ladies from the church go to the market to purchase all neccessary ingredients for the meal. Meanwhile a group of young people engage in cleaning up the church and the yard in preparation for the festivities. You have a sense of appreciation based on everyone's involvement to make this event a success. By 1pm the Church is completely filled with children singing the joy for the birth of the savior, along with dances and sketches. While the aroma of rice, beans, chicken, fried plantains and salad reaches those in attendance.
Immediately after the ceremony, starting with kindergarten age children, the meal is served. Expressions of appreciation are evident in each face and in each voice. After the meal toys are distributed to the children. This part of the celebration is the "icing on the cake" for the kids. And for me, because of your support, this provides a great sense of accomplishment.

Children Christmas Dinner BEM Christmas Dinner 2008 UPDATE
Dear Friends of the needy,
"We've done it again." Once again, I’m humble and I have the most distinguished privilege and honor to write this Christmas report!
This is to affirm you that once again the Lord has use you in making the Haitian Christmas celebration not only possible, but a tremendous success. Last year we feed about 700 children and adults, this year because of your generosity, we were able to feed 850 children in two different locations.
Most of you remember the story of the church of brefette, its building were located next to the river on the hill about 40 feet high from the water. From the last flood, the river washed it away with many other houses around it. Many people in the area are now homeless, BEM rented a small house for the church, but the house has no roof. Our dear saints of brefette have decided to purchase a Tharp and throw it over the house just to keep the sun away. When it rain it's another story, everyone get drenched but no one leave worship. The motivation from Pastor Frankie is to be faithful both in Good and difficult time. Would you please pray that the Lord would open the doors for BEM to build at least a decent place for these faithful people to worship the Savior? I'm working with Pastor John to find the final numbers for the cost of the land as well as to build the Temple. If you feel led to contribute to this project, please call or e-mail me for info.
When I saw that, needless to say we had to stretch our money and feed some of the precious children of brefette as well, and they were so happy to see us. Pastor John I was so grateful to be part of such a great celebration. Your prayers for my safety and wisdom as well as your financial contributions truly were the force that created 850 smiles and more while I was in Haiti this Christmas. The menus were as follow:In Les Cayes we had the famous Haitian fried chicken, Rice and Beans, fried plantains, gravy, beet salad and Juice.
For Brefette we had Pigeon Peas with rice, vegetable gravy with egg plants, fried plantains, fried pork, and Juice. It was a finger licking experience in both places. One of the dignitaries of brefette came and participates in the event, he congratulates BEM for taking the action to help the people of Brefette, and add "Action speaks louder than Words".
The atmosphere in Brefette was much better than Les Cayes, because Les Cayes population is much larger and the needs are even greater, nevertheless together we make Christmas brighter for these beautiful Children. Due to the state of the U.S economy perhaps it was a sacrifice for you this year; let me tell you it was worth it, no amount of money can purchase the smiles I saw in the faces of these precious children.
My goal for Next year prayerfully is at least 1000 in Les Cayes alone, together we can do it and if we work even harden us can even make hunger history. Please consider joining this successful events year and send your participation early for better preparations. In the next few days, please go to our website www.bemhaiti.org to see the pictures and video clips. Due to space in e-mail we are limited to send them to you at this time. Thanks for sending me once again, it was joy to feed God's people for Christmas.

In the name of Pastor John and his wife Gardinette as well as all the 850 recipients Thank you so very much, again this year "WE DID IT" and it was beautiful.
Again Merry Christmas to you all and your families.
Peace, Love, Joy and Emanuel,
Pastor Lubin Beaucejour

This is just a reminder of our yearly excellent event,” Haiti Children's Christmas dinner”, boy what a year it has been, the Lord truly blessed us in so many ways and for that we are grateful. As I mentioned in my last e-mail due to the enormous need in the area, I would like to feed more children this year then in the past.
It is time once again for you to talk more about it with friends and family, together again we make a difference. Here is a glimpse behind our success; A young girl had decided to start an organization called “Kids who cares” just to help other children not just in Haiti, but in India as well. Mariel Yaghsizian maybe a young girl. But she truly has a big heart. Other families make this program a yearly event by simply making a donation instead of spending money on useless things; others just spread the word at their place of employments, friends or churches. Once again this year would you consider brightening a child’s day this Christmas? This is a worthy investment, considering the price of a smile, “priceless”.
The picture on the right tells the story of a group truly needy children finally find themselves in front of a well balanced meal such as: Red beans and rice, chicken, salad, fried plantain, gravy and juice.
In addition, with your help each child will receive a toy of some type, perhaps the only toy he or she will receive for Christmas.
This event gives you an opportunity to sow a seed in a needy person's life and as a result both you, that person, and the recipient will be blessed and above all God will be glorified.
Please help us get the ball rolling! Please make your tax-deductible contribution payable to B EM. Our address is PO BOX 6060 Wallingford, CT 06492.
Make Christmas a meaningful event this year for you, your family and someone in need. Thanks for your kind consideration,
In the Spirit of: Joy, Peace, & Love
Pastor Lubin
